GENERAL INFORMATION

Spruce School of Real Estate, Inc. is fully approved and regulated by the West Virginia Real Estate Commission and The West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education, and has permanent classrooms in Charleston, but does hold classes in other parts of the state.  According to The West Virginia Real Estate Commission, Spruce School of Real Estate, Inc. has the highest pass rate, on  average,  for students taking the State Exam of any major Real Estate School in the state of West Virginia since 1998.

Spruce School of Real Estate, Inc. offers a variety of Real Estate Courses, including In-Class and Home Study for the 90 hour Pre-License or 90 hour Broker's Courses. The cost of a Home Study course is the same as that for an In-Class Course, as any student who enrolls in a Home Study Course may attend any In-Class session held at any time, at any location, for up to six (6) months from the date of purchase of the Course. 90 Hour Pre-License and Broker's Course tuition is $455, which includes the textbook and supplemental materials. An initial deposit of $150 is required to enroll.  Students have up to six (6) months to complete the Home Study Course.

Also available are In-Class or Home Study Courses to satisfy the West Virginia Real Estate Commission's requirement for 7 hours of annual continuing education for licensed salespersons and brokers. A selection from at least nine (9) different courses is available depending upon the individual interest of the student. Courses are offered as Home Study or In-Class and range in price from $35 to $50 depending upon the number of courses purchased at one time and the date they are purchased.

90 HOUR COURSE DETAILS

Once a student has completed study of the 90 Hour Pre-Licensing Course, we will administer a final exam. The student must pass each area (Principles, Law, Finance and Appraisal) of our final exam with a score of at least 75% per area of study. If a student fails our final exam, we will set a second testing date when the student feels better prepared.

After a student has successfully passed our final exam, we will obtain an application for the student to take the State Exam in Charleston. The fee for the State Exam is $25, payable the day of the exam.   After passing the State Exam, licensing fees are $50 for a salesperson and $100 for a broker. A broker must sponsor each student before the student is permitted to take the State Exam. A new salesperson must then serve a two (2) year apprenticeship with a broker prior to making application to sit for the Broker's Exam.

REFUND POLICY

The initial minimum $150 deposit on any of the 90 Hour Courses is NON-REFUNDABLE.  The balance of any amount paid on the 90 Hour Course will be refunded if requested within 5 days of the date Registration Payment is received by Spruce School of Real Estate, Inc.  Once a course is purchased, it may not be sold or given to anyone else without specific written authorization from Spruce School of Real Estate, Inc.
